🌿 Meet the Hoya Retusa

The Hoya Retusa is proof that not all Hoyas look alike. 🌿

Instead of the thick, broad leaves you might expect from a Hoya, Retusa produces masses of slender, grass-like green foliage along cascading stems, giving it a wonderfully wild and delicate appearance.

Its unusual growth makes it especially beautiful when allowed to trail from a hanging planter, shelf, or elevated plant stand. And in an 8" pot, you get a fuller plant that can really show off that distinctive cascading habit.

When mature and happy, Hoya Retusa can also produce charming star-shaped flowers along its stems, adding another surprise to an already unusual plant.

🌿 Plant Care

Give your Hoya Retusa plenty of bright, indirect light. Good lighting encourages healthy, full growth and can help provide the conditions a mature plant needs to flower.

Allow the growing medium to partially dry between waterings. Use an airy, well-draining mix and avoid allowing the roots to remain consistently wet.

Average household humidity is generally suitable, although moderate humidity can encourage lush growth.

Hoya Retusa is particularly beautiful when allowed to trail naturally. Place it on an elevated shelf, plant stand, or in a hanging planter and give those unusual stems plenty of room to cascade.

If your plant flowers, avoid removing the structures where blooms have formed unless they are clearly dead or damaged, as Hoyas may bloom again from established flowering points.
