🌿 Meet the Monstera Dubia

The Monstera Dubia is one of the most fascinating members of the Monstera family, known for its unique shingling growth habit and beautifully patterned juvenile leaves.

Unlike the classic Monstera look, young Dubia leaves grow flat against a tree, plank, moss pole, or other climbing surface, creating an incredible tiled or “shingled” appearance. Its heart-shaped foliage features gorgeous shades of green with silvery markings that make it stand out in any plant collection.

Give it something to climb and watch the transformation happen! As Monstera Dubia matures, its foliage can become dramatically larger and eventually develop the fenestrations associated with mature Monsteras.

Give your Monstera Dubia bright, indirect light and a well-draining, chunky soil mix.

Water when the top 1–2 inches of soil begins to dry, allowing excess water to drain completely. Avoid letting the roots remain in consistently soggy soil.

The secret to getting the most out of a Dubia is giving it something to climb. A wooden plank, moss pole, or similar vertical surface allows the leaves to attach and display their characteristic shingling growth.

Moderate to high humidity and warm temperatures will help encourage healthy growth.
